Healthy Chick Pea recipe substitute for popcorn during movies.

Indian style Chick Pea recipe substitute for meat protein and popcorn during movies.

Recipe for 4 people consumption.

Ingredients:
50 gm dry chick peas
Some curry leaves for aroma
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
3 dried chillies
2 teaspoons cooking oil
salt to taste

Method:

Soak the chick peas for 4-5 hours before hand in water. Boil the chick peas in hot water for 30 minutes and check the texture. If the chick peas are still hard, boil the chick peas till it is soft and edible. Add in the required salt amount to add taste to the chick pea. Once the chick pea is soft and edible, drain off the hot water and leave it aside in a bowl. Heat the pan slightly and add in the 2 teaspoons cooking oil. Add in the mustard seeds,chillies and curry leaves into the pan and stir. After the ingredients have released the aroma smell, add in the chick peas and stir the ingredients. Finally after 5 minutes, the chick pea is ready to be consumed.

Suggestion:

You may add in 1 chopped big onion to add taste to the chick pea.

Healthy Vegetable Soup remedy for mild wind and bloated feelings

Recipe for 4 people consumption.

Ingredients:
2 carrots cut into round pieces
2 red tomatoes sliced
1 big onion sliced
4 garlic pieces crushed
1/4 chinese soup cabbage chopped randomly 
1 handful sliced soup ginger
1 tablespoon pounded pepper
2 teaspoons cooking oil
salt to taste
6 medium soup bowls of water

Method:

Heat the soup pan slightly and add in the 2 teaspoons cooking oil.  Fry garlic and onion till golden colour, after that, add in the ginger and tomato. After the ingredients has released the aroma smell, add in the water and stir the ingredients. Add in the carrot and let the soup to boil for 15 minutes. Then add in the chopped chinese cabbage and stir. Let it boil for 5 minutes and add the salt and pepper into the soup. Finally after 5 minutes, the soup is ready to be consumed.

Suggestion:

You may add in potatoes and chinese taufu into the vegetable soup.

Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkin Soup for health

Ingredients:
400 gm pumpkin
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion sliced
2 garlic pieces crushed
3 1/2 cup of water mixed with vegetable stock
1/2 teaspoon pounded ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 bay leaves
1 1/4 cup of fresh milk
salt and pepper to taste
6 tablespoons of natural yogurt

Method:
Cut the pumpkin into cubes. Melt butter in the pan at medium heat. Fry garlic and onion slightly, add the pumpkin and stir for 5 minutes in medium heat.
Pour in the vegetable stock and let it boil over medium heat.Add in the ginger, salt and pepper to taste.Pour in the lemon juice and stir the soup to well mix. Then add the bay leaves to the soup and let it to cool down. Once the soup has cool down, strain the soup or blend it until smooth. Add the milk to the soup and reheat it in slow heat. Finally garnish with a swirl of yogurt and serve.

Suggestion:

Replace pumpkin with carrot if not familiar with pumpkin taste but only add 1/4 cup of milk and 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt.

Yin and Yang Soup

Yin (spinach) and Yang (corn) Soup

Ingredients:

  1. A bundle of Spinach.
  2. 1 tin of Sweet corn.
  3. 2 table spoon Starch flour.
  4. 2 table spoon Corn flour.
  5. Salt to taste.
  6. Pepper to taste.
  7. 2 table spoon of cooking oil.
  8. 1 table spoon sesame oil.
  9. Yin and Yang mould.

Method:

  • To prepare Yin, boil hot water which is sufficient for 2 servings on the stove, add the chopped spinach into the water and reduce the heat of the water. Add in 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and sesame oil. After that, add in 2 table spoon of starch flour and stir. Finally add in the salt and pepper to taste. Pour it into a separate bowl, while preparing the corn.
  • Now to prepare Yang, boil hot water which is sufficient for 2 servings on the stove, add in the corn from the tin and reduce the heat of the water. Add in 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. After that, add in 2 table spoon of corn flour and stir. Finally add in the salt and to taste.
  • Place the yin and yang mould in the middle of the bowl. Pour in the yin soup at 1 side and the yang soup at the other side. Remove the mould slowly and the Yin and Yang soup is ready to be savoured.

Suggestion:

Replace the spinach with celery and corn with carrot.
